NEVER WIRE FUNDS:
Without calling to verify the wire information with the party you are transferring funds to (i.e. your realtor or escrow officer).
Use only reliable contact information found from an independent source, such as the sales contract to verify any funding instructions received.
YOU may lose all of the money sent by you to an incorrect bank account.
WHY ARE WIRE TRANSFERS OF CASH TO CLOSE FOR REAL ESTATE TRANSACTIONS REQUIRED:
- Florida law requires that the money we receive for closing be considered "CLEARED FUNDS". We are prohibited by law to disburse any funds at closing that have not properly cleared.
- Bank and cashier checks do not clear our account for 48 hours after actual deposit and delay funding of the file. Also, due to a rash of forgeries, these checks must be held for 15 business days prior to disbursement.
- ACH transfers are NOT same day wires and cannot be accepted due to their ability to be recalled for up to 30 days after transfer.
- Personal checks can take 10 to 15 business days to clear.
